UNIVERSITIES and SCHOOLS OF DESIGN
The aim and philosophy of the study is to experiment with language, and to create new stylistic philosophies merging genres, styles and materials. This often happens as a result of the mix between professional studio work and teaching activity at University and International Schools of Design.
Silvio De Ponte is a well-recognized professor at various prestigious Universities and Schools of Design and Interior Design, including the Architecture and Industrial Design Department at the La Sapienza of the University of Rome as well as the Domus Academy of Milan. He has also been a professor for of Industrial Design at Politecnico of Milan and a researcher in the Architecture Department at the University of Florence.
LESSONS | WORKSHOP | LECTURES
The activites of Silvio De Ponte are characterized by a constant connection between basic knowledge needed to put typical projects and professional activities into praticeand the world of the research / theoretical thought which constitutes the culture of the project. This knowledge is also developed through lessons taught at university and international Schools of Design, lectures in Italy and abroad, as well as at university workshops and businesses (for example, Philips at Eindhoven, Politecnico of Milan, Domus Academy, etc.).
Silvio De Ponte has also participated in several television programs as an expert in lighting.
The topics discussed in these various forums cover a wide range of subjects including: the use of light, the interior design of spaces like Hotels and Spas, design of spaces in retail outlets to urban and architectural gathering places, and interior Home Design.

Silvio De Ponte has published cultural and research articles in both Italian and foreign magazines, including magazines like: Ottagono, Modo, Brava Casa, Vogue, etc.
Silvio De Ponte is also author of Architetture di Luce, published by Gangemi in Rome, and is in the process of publishing a new book, Skin– When the Light meet the Matter, which discusses the relationship between the light and the reaction to the materials used.
Many magazines and books have also published interviews and projects of Silvio De Ponte. These include, Interni, Casabella, Abitare,, L’Arca, Decors, Marie Claire Maison, DDN Design, Elle Decor, Italian Design Book, Euro Design, The Italian Design, etc.
