Piazza Capuana Requalification
Milan _ Italy
Municipality of Milan
Piazza Capuana is located on the outskirts of Milan in a context and social fabric that needed a new place of attraction and cohesion, a meeting place and reference point for the citizens. This made it necessary to conceive a design intervention on a global scale with the intention of upgrading an unattractive urban environment.
The distinctive features of the project are outlined through the macrographic intervention. The green areas have been upgraded thanks to the insertion of new plantings and a project of reconnection with the green areas and parks immediately surrounding them.
Particular importance has been given to the lighting redevelopment project which completes the new appearance of the square and its general context. The lighting plan is of the ‘differentiated’ type, comprising a functional light and a scenic light. The colour of the light has been used as a means of distinguishing and enhancing the paths.
